About Scott
Senior Software Developer with over 20 years experience in C# and .NET development. A lot of my .NET jobs have been remote positions. I've been working remotely for a long time, well before Covid made it the norm. Remote is the way to go for software engineers, in my opinion. Anything you used to do in an office, you can do from the comfort of your home.
Most of my career has been in web development, creating user interfaces, tying in the UI to the backend, and creating databases. Currently, over the past two years I have been working in Cyber Security, creating tools to help protect the network and data. This has been rewarding work, knowing I am helping protect companies from malware and ransomware attacks. There's no better feeling than knowing you are making a difference.
Game Development has always been a passion of mine. I've been creating games since I was a kid. These games were never completed until recently. If I had to have a bucket list, then creating a game and selling it was on my bucket list. Usually, the hardest part is coming up with an idea for a game. After an idea is created, the rest is all about completing tasks. After all tasks are completed, the game will be done.
If I had all the time in the world, I would try to create a robot that would rake leaves for me. I don't mind cutting grass, but raking is a pain. One of these days I'll have time to create a lawn bot that will get up all my leaves.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been all the talk of the past couple of years, and rightfully so. Instead of using large language modules (LLMs) where people's websites are scraped, I've been developing my own A.I., which only knows what it has been programmed to know. It knows about the weather, for example, because it has a weather knowledge base that I have created. Any other specialty that I need it to have, I can add another knowledge base. People can program different knowledge bases to plug into the A.I. for different needs. So, that's what I've been doing in my spare time.
